A warming and cooling herbal balm to ease tired muscles, relieve aches and strains, and calm bruised or knocked areas.

Made with Comfrey, Tupakihi (Māori Rongoā herb) and Arnica in a nourishing tallow-beeswax-castor oil base for better skin absorption.

Recovery Balm is your go-to pot for “I’ve bumped it,” “I’ve strained it,” and “that’s going to bruise.”

Handcrafted in Perth, this balm combines Western herbs (Comfrey and Arnica) with Tupakihi infused in harakeke (flax) seed oil to support the body’s natural repair processes. Comfrey helps with tissue recovery, Arnica helps reduce swelling and bruising, and Tupakihi brings a deeper anti-inflammatory, pain-easing action. A touch of capsicum encourages circulation, while peppermint and eucalyptus give that instant soothing sensation.

The base of grass-fed & finished tallow and beeswax keeps it stable, soft, and skin-loving — perfect for massaging over sore muscles, strained joints, finger knocks (the “jammed by the ball” injury), sprains and everyday bumps.

FAQs

Can I use it on broken skin?

No — avoid broken or open skin because of the Arnica and capsicum content.

Is it safe in pregnancy/breastfeeding?

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the inclusion of potent herbs (Arnica and Tupakihi). For external use only on unbroken skin.

Can children use it?

For school-age children and teens, use sparingly and only on unbroken skin. Always patch test first.

Does it heat up?

It has a gentle warmth from capsicum, balanced with peppermint and eucalyptus, so it feels active but not burning.

How to use

Massage a small amount into sore or strained muscles, joints or bruised areas.
For muscle recovery: apply before bed and let the tupakihi work its magic overnight.
For bumps, bruises or sprains: apply every 2 hours.

For external use only. Avoid broken skin. Patch test first on sensitive skin.

Sustainable Packaging:

We do our best to reduce waste and minimise our environmental impact. Where possible, your order may be packed using reused or recycled packaging materials, which means you might receive your delivery in a box or parcel with other branding. Rest assured, your products inside are fresh, safe, and carefully packed—thank you for supporting our sustainability efforts!

Processing time:

We aim to carefully package and ship your order within 2 business days. You will be notified as soon as your order has been processed and shipped!

Delivery delays can sometimes occur, these are beyond our control, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 

Orders with presale items will be shipped together, we aim to keep the ETA up to date on the relevant product pages; however, as above, delivery delays can occur and are out of our control.

Please note we will be closed for a much-needed break, from 20th December - 5th January.

Local Delivery:

Local delivery is available within 15km. To find out if your address qualifies and the delivery fee, please proceed to checkout.

  • For deliveries within 3 km: Delivery is free and will generally be completed on the same day if the order is placed before midday.
  • For deliveries greater than 3 km: Deliveries will be made on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, within 4 business days from the order date.

Please note, we generally do not offer weekend deliveries.

Free local pickup:

Free local pickup is available Monday through Friday. You will receive an email once your order is ready for pickup, usually within 4 business hours. Please select a time slot and respond to the email.

Weekend pickup can be pre-arranged. Please contact us when placing your order to schedule a time.

Western Australia:

  • Perth Metro: Calculated at checkout, $10 Maximum; FREE delivery for orders over $200 (maximum 20kg, PO Box, parcel lockers and parcel collect don't qualify).
  • Rest of WA: $200 minimum for free delivery (maximum 3kg).
  • Shipping calculated at checkout for all other orders.
  • Please ensure all orders are placed by 19th December for delivery prior to Christmas.

FREE deliveries on all orders over $200 (Maximum 1kg)

Shipping Partners:

Shipping is completed by Sendle (via Couriers Post and Aramex) and Australia Post. Note Sendle cannot deliver to Parcel Lockers, Parcel Collect or PO Boxes. 

Notifications:

You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email once your order has shipped containing your tracking number(s). The tracking number will be active within 24 hours.

Queries or questions about your order:

Please allow at least 2 business days after placing your order before contacting us. If you are unhappy with your order due to quality or a discrepancy, please email us and we will aim to resolve your issue. 

Returns Policy

We want you to love your order from Botanic Balance.

General Policy
Our standard return period is 30 days from the date of purchase. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or exchanges after 30 days.

Botanic Balance Skin Range
We understand that skincare can be personal and may take a little trial and error.

  • If your tallow-based skincare product didn’t work for you, you may return it within 14 days of receiving your order — no questions asked.
  • Please email hello@botanicbalance.com.au with your order details, and we’ll provide return instructions.
  • Return shipping is at your cost. Once received, we’ll issue a refund or exchange for the product purchase price (excluding shipping).

If the product is unopened and unused, you may still return it within 30 days under our standard policy.

General Products (NaturoBest, Power of 4, Nut Grocer, Cell Squared)
For health and safety reasons, all other products can only be returned if they are unopened, unused, and in re-saleable condition, or if found to be faulty or damaged on arrival.
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery if your item is faulty or incorrect so we can arrange a replacement or refund.

How to Return an Item

  • Your order number and the item you’d like to return
  • The reason for your return (optional for skincare)
  • We’ll send you the return address and next steps.

Shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the customer, and original shipping fees are non-refundable.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
