Handcrafted in Perth using 100% grass-fed and finished WA tallow, this refreshing emulsion blends shea butter, rosehip, jojoba, and castor oils with soothing herbal infusions of Marshmallow root, Dandelion, Kawakawa, Calendula, and Licorice. Together, these ingredients help soften the appearance of fine lines, deeply hydrate, and support healthy skin barrier function.

Tallow is naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, along with essential fatty acids that closely mimic our skin’s natural sebum, making it incredibly nourishing and barrier-supportive without clogging pores.

The essential oil concentration is kept very low. If you are highly sensitive or cautious during pregnancy, we always recommend patch testing first or seeking personalised advice.

9. What preservative is used in this cream?

This cream is preserved with Geogard 221 (INCI: Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid), a gentle, globally approved broad-spectrum preservative commonly used in natural and organic skincare.

It protects the formula from bacteria, yeast, and mould, ensuring your cream stays safe, stable, and effective throughout its shelf life. It is free from parabens, formaldehyde releasers, and harsh synthetic preservatives, making it suitable for sensitive and family-friendly skincare.

Because this product contains water and herbal infusions, a preservative is essential for safety. We choose preservation carefully so your skin is protected without unnecessary exposure to harsh ingredients.

10. What is Cetearyl Alcohol & Cetearyl Glucoside in this cream?

We use Olivem 1000 (INCI: Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside), a naturally derived emulsifier made from plant sugars and fatty alcohols.

Its role is to gently bind water and oils together, creating a smooth, stable cream without disrupting the skin barrier. Unlike older synthetic emulsifiers, Olivem 1000 is known for its skin-friendly feel and compatibility with sensitive and reactive skin types.

It also helps support hydration by mimicking the structure of the skin’s natural lipid barrier, contributing to the soft, lightweight texture of this cream.

11. What do you mean by “no nasties”?

How to use

After cleansing, apply a small amount of Tallow Face Cream | Light to the face and neck.
Use morning and night as a standalone moisturiser or layer beneath Whipped Tallow Cream or Whipped Tallow Cream+ for added barrier protection.
During the day, follow with a zinc-based sunscreen.

Local delivery is available within 10km. To find out if your address qualifies and the delivery fee, please proceed to checkout.

For deliveries greater than 3 km: Deliveries will be made on Mondays, Tuesdays, or delivered by our Courier partners within 8 business days.

Please note, we generally do not offer weekend deliveries.

Free local pickup:

Free local pickup is available Monday/Wednesday/Thursday & Friday. You will receive an email once your order is ready for pickup, usually within 24 business hours. Please select a time slot and respond to the email.

Weekend and Tuesday pickup can be pre-arranged. Please contact us when placing your order to schedule a time.

Perth Metro courier delivery is available for street addresses only within the Perth metropolitan area.

Perth Metro boundaries extend from Alkimos in the north to Mandurah in the south. Eastern suburb boundaries vary.

Shipping is calculated at checkout, with a maximum courier charge of $15 (22kg maximum).
Free delivery is available for orders over $120.

Incorrect Shipping Selection

If an incorrect shipping option is selected, we will contact you to arrange payment of the remaining postage required.

If we do not receive a response within 48 hours, the order will be cancelled and refunded minus any non-refundable payment processing fees.

Processing time:

We aim to carefully package and ship your order within 2 business days. You will be notified as soon as your order has been processed and shipped!

Delivery delays can sometimes occur, these are beyond our control, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Orders with presale items will be shipped together, we aim to keep the ETA up to date on the relevant product pages; however, as above, delivery delays can occur and are out of our control.

Shipping is completed by Couriers Post and Australia Post. Note only Auspost can deliver to Parcel Lockers, Parcel Collect or PO Boxes.

Notifications:

Returns Policy

We want you to love your order from Botanic Balance.

General Policy
Our standard return period is 30 days from the date of purchase. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or exchanges after 30 days.

Botanic Balance Skin Range
We understand that skincare can be personal and may take a little trial and error.

If your tallow-based skincare product didn’t work for you, you may return it within 14 days of receiving your order — no questions asked.
Please email hello@botanicbalance.com.au with your order details, and we’ll provide return instructions.
Return shipping is at your cost. Once received, we’ll issue a refund or exchange for the product purchase price (excluding shipping).

If the product is unopened and unused, you may still return it within 30 days under our standard policy.

General Products (NaturoBest, Power of 4, Nut Grocer, Cell Squared)
For health and safety reasons, all other products can only be returned if they are unopened, unused, and in re-saleable condition, or if found to be faulty or damaged on arrival.
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery if your item is faulty or incorrect so we can arrange a replacement or refund.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
